The student’s sponsor (the person responsible for the monthly loan repayments) completes a Pre-Screening Questionnaire and provides a copy of their ID and payslip.

The sponsor should not be under Debt Review and should earn a netto salary of at least R9,000 per month to qualify.

MANATI will do the initial credit and affordability checks to determine if the sponsor qualifies for a loan.

If the sponsor passes the Pre-screening stage, MANATI will give them access to the full application form and they will be asked to upload the required documentation in order for MANATI to complete the credit and affordability assessment.

  • Payslips for the past 3 months

  • Bank statements for the past 3 months (6 months if you are self-employed)

  • Academic results (for 2nd, 3rd and final year students)

Once your loan application and FICA documents have been received, we’ll do the final checks to determine if a loan can be granted. We will communicate the outcome of the application via email with the sponsor.
